Demos
PERFORMING AT
THE TROUBADOUR CLUB, LONDON

If you would like to play at The Troubadour, we welcome demos from live bands and solo artists. Please read the following guidelines in order for you to have the best chance of us listening to your demo and you performing here.

WHAT TO SEND:
Please send a link to your website or song (only if none of these are unavailable please send an mp3) together with your contact details and when you are available to play. Please do not send anything in the post. If you do there is a good chance of it being sidelined and forgotten.

WHERE TO SEND IT:

IF YOU DON’T HEAR FROM US:
As you can appreciate, we get a huge amount of demos and it will take a while to listen to all of them. If you have been successful we will get in touch with you but unfortunately we are unable to provide individual feedback!

WHAT WE PROMOTE:
- Folk
- Singer-songwriters
- Blues
- Soul
- Indie
- Rock
- Jazz
Generally these are the genres of the acts which we book. We look for good, original and interesting artists who display talent in the arts of song writing and musicianship.
(If you are a covers band, have a backing track or are a heavy metal band it is NOT worth sending in a demo as we do not book your type of music. We welcome full bands please note however that The Troubadour is NOT a heavy rock venue nor a pop venue, so if your band falls into these genres or is very loud, please don’t waste your time and ours by sending your demo in.)
As mentioned, we receive a huge number of demos, so if you have already submitted yours please give us 3 to 4 weeks before contacting us for a response! Many thanks,

THE TROUBADOUR SESSIONS:
If accepted for a gig, you would probably come and play the Wednesday Sessions initially. This is unpaid but we give all musicians dinner and a drink. Please bear in mind that a proviso of playing is that you bring at least 15 people to your gig. Please also note that if you don’t bring a decent number of people to see you, we are unlikely to re-book you! We book four or five acts for The Sessions a combination of acoustic artists and full bands. Each act performs six songs (or a 25 minute set). We usually book at least two months in advance.

OTHER NIGHTS AT THE TROUBADOUR:
Alternatively, we may book you for other nights of the week, for which you need to guarantee bringing at least 25 people. For this you receive a 50% share of the door money, of those that come to see you, after the first £30. Most acts play the Wednesday Sessions first.

PROMOTION:
We promote all gigs on our website, mailing list and all relevant London listings. You will of course be expected to promote your gig through your own networks as much as possible. We do not provide discounted flyers.

CLUB INFO:
The club audience capacity is 120. Opening hours are 8pm till midnight on Sunday to Wednesday and 8pm till 2am on Thursdays to Saturdays. Sound check is usually from 6pm.
